2021-05-03 THE PROCESS OF A DREAM'S FULFILLMENT - Weekly Devotional from Rev. Elias

"Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more. He said to them, "Hear this dream that I have dreamed: Behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright. And behold, your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf." His brothers said to him, "Are you indeed to reign over us? Or are you indeed to rule over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, "Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me." But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have." Genesis 37:5-10.

"God gives vision by the mile, but we must take it by the foot." ~ Paul Johansson

Just like God did with Joseph, He will plant a dream in your heart that seems insurmountable. Undoubtedly, if you can fulfill your dream without God's help, it is not from God.

He will give you a vision that is just out of reach...

It will be beyond your budget...

It will be beyond your abilities...

It will be beyond who you know...

It will be beyond what you've ever done. You get the point…basically, the calling God ultimately has on your life will be bigger than you.

Yet, you must live out all of the greatness He has in store step by step.

  • Joseph was rejected by his brothers.

  • He was displaced of his coat of many colors.

  • He was sold as a slave.

  • He was accused falsely and placed in jail for seven years.

But his dream stood firm in the process of its fulfillment because it was God-inspired.

You'll never know the entire journey ahead, and you certainly will not know how to complete the vision. If you knew how it would happen, you wouldn't be ready for it, and it wouldn't seem logical.

Even though I had a vision for my life at an early age, I never would have dreamed I would be where I am right now. If my early 18-year-old self had seen the future, I would have been confused and overwhelmed. But that is the very reason why God doesn't reveal the whole journey upfront. He wants us to experience every step along the journey.

We don't go to our destiny; we grow into our destiny.

It's step by step that we develop and get what we need for the next step ahead. The most crucial step in living out your calling is the next one. Stop getting caught up in trying to figure out how you're going to do everything. You don't need to know the how; you just need to trust in God's provision and timing.

So, whatever you are facing right now, understand that you won't know how it all will unfold, but that doesn't mean it won't. Raise your faith and begin to step out and see how God does it supernaturally.

Remember, if you can fulfill your dream without God's supernatural intervention, you're not dreaming big enough!

Have a blessed week,

Pastor (Rev. Elias Limones)
