2021-08-23 THE POWER OF YOUR TESTIMONY - Weekly Devotional from Rev. Elias Limones

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony." Revelation 12:11

Your testimony is one of the most powerful tools you have to help others find The Lord Jesus. You don't convince people to follow Jesus because of your wisdom and theology; you compel them to Christ by showing them the life-change you've experienced.

"The skeptic may deny your doctrine or attack your church…But the skeptic cannot honestly ignore the fact that your life has been changed."

1. Life-change is the evidence of a real God in your life.

  • Claiming to be something is talk, but living with conviction and compassion is the real walk.

  • People will read you not based on what you say but on how you live.

  • Actions speak louder than words every time. Our words and our actions must align for there to be a powerful testimony that changes others.

  • Words play a role in speaking truth and life, but your actions are the ones that speak your testimony.

2. Did you know the most influential element of marketing is word of mouth?

  • The reviews that people read and hear about create the greatest impact.

  • Testimonials from clients are the single most crucial factor in any marketing for any product.

  • Do you think that is a coincidence? No, it just proves in our modern world the power of testimony.

3. So what is your testimony? What is your story?

  • Don't downplay or hide your testimony, no matter how big or small it is.

  • Don't be ashamed of your testimony because someone, somewhere, somehow needs to hear it and see it.

  • The trick of the enemy is to get you to hide your story and keep it inside. If you don't write your review, no one can be impacted by it.

  • Sharing your testimony is like writing your review. It validates a real-life change by a real God who is alive and well.

Conclusion:

I encourage you to work on your story and create a short version of it that you can memorize and be ready for when the time comes. It may be with your family, kids, friends, co-workers, or even strangers, but when it comes, you will be ready to share your review of God's grace and truth in your life. Invite them to go with you to church. The word of God preached never returns void but always accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent.

"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15.

Have a Blessed Week,

Pastor (Rev. Elias Limones)
