"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
As a man passed by some elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused that these giant creatures were held by only a small rope tied to their front legs. No chains, no cages. Obviously, the elephants could break away from their bonds at any time, but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. "Well," the trainer said, "when they are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free."
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds, but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants had conditioned themselves to be limited by the rope, we condition ourselves to be limited by perceived barriers. When we reach their limit, they cause fear and discomfort, so we jolt back to safe, familiar territory where we can be comfortable again. But if we are ever to reach our potential and get free, we have to break through our barriers.
Whether real or perceived, our limits do not bind us.
1. We don't have to be a victim to our worst fears and challenges.
Christ came to set us free and break the chains of our limits.
He gives us liberty and freedom to venture out into greater possibilities…always!
But you have to understand your potential and purpose lie just beyond the borders of your fear.
It's in the land of the unknown that we find greater possibilities.
We can't let our fear of the unknown keep us from having faith in the unseen.
2. Remember, we serve the God of the impossible.
He is the God that has absolute power and authority to do anything and everything.
Imagine what it'd be like if we actually lived in the faith and peace of the knowledge that God can make things happen out of nothing.
Imagine if we fully trusted the God of the universe in every area of our lives. This would transform our lives from the inside out.
3. Jesus makes the impossible possible.
In a story documented by Dr. Luke, a wealthy young man and a group of people asked Jesus how they could have eternal life. Jesus basically said that it was impossible to have eternal life through personal means, but completely possible with Him.
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 16:26.
Jesus makes the impossible possible. If we rely on our strength, we will fall short.
But when we fully trust Him and follow Him, He begins to make a way when there seems no way.
Not long ago, I studied the book of Joshua in the Bible. By the way, you need to read this book if you are at a junction in life, ready to move to a higher level but are unsure of how to do it. Anyways, as I was studying, this scripture jumped out at me and literally caused me to put the Bible down and STOP in awe! Are you ready for it? So here it is…as Joshua led the children of Israel on an unforgettable adventure into the promised land, God gave them a marker, which indicated they were on the right path…
"Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before." Joshua 3:4
WOW! God basically said, "You will know which way to go because it will be unfamiliar. You will be in uncharted territory where you'll have to trust me."
God will call you to places that are bigger than you so that you can show how big He is through you.
Do you know what a great Godly sign is when trying to figure out where to go? It will be beyond what you have ever done before.
God is an enlarger; He is an expander; He is a builder…always building up. He knows no bounds, no limits, no borders, and no excuses. If He has called you to it, He will see you through it.
Have a Blessed Week,
Pastor (Rev. Elias Limones)
