2022-01-24 FRUITFUL LIFE - by Rev. Elias Limones

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

Galatians 5:22-23

Fruit is something that naturally grows on a healthy tree. In the same manner, Holy Ghost-filled believers should naturally display the character traits of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." Galatians 2:20.

When we the believers have a stream of living water (The Holy Spirit) flowing from our innermost being we should produce these fruits in our lives naturally.

1. These fruits are generated in our lives naturally by the Holy Spirit.

  • Love – is the first thing we display through our attitude. We don't only love those who loved us, but we can love even those who hate us through the Holy Ghost. Love is the forgiveness and compassion we show to others when the world only shows hate.

  • Joy – filling our lives to overflowing amid adversity. It is a joy that doesn't flow out of favorable circumstances; instead, it flows from our relationship with God.

  • Peace – ruling our hearts as a guardian reminding us that God is in control. We have the peace that passes all understanding when everything around us is in turmoil.

  • Patience – slowing us down to enjoy the process of maturity. We embrace the journey when the world tries to relentlessly hurry through life at all costs.

  • Kindness – destroying bitterness and hurt. When the world takes on a "victim" role, we are consciously more than conquerors.

  • Goodness – following us all the days of our lives. When the world thinks it's all a matter of luck, we know our lives are in the hands of a good God.

  • Faithfulness – winning over fear. When the world is paralyzed by fear, we move ahead with courage and trust in God.

  • Gentleness – controlling the way we react to others. When the world fights fire with fire, we are the peacemakers.

  • Self-control – breaking our addictions to harmful acts. When the world loses itself in uncontrolled desires, we find ourselves in a place of freedom.

2. True prosperity is produced by the Holy Spirit.

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. WHATEVER HE DOES PROSPERS."

Psalm 1:1-3

3. We should bear the DNA of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

When we hold the spiritual mirror up to our lives, we should see the reflection of our Father Jesus Christ. Others should see the character of God within us.

Just like it's easy to tell that a child belongs to their parents because of similar traits, our lives should reflect the characteristics of God.

At the heart of a worshiper is an unmistakable reflection of the character of God.

Two questions we should ask ourselves are:

  • "Who am I reflecting?"

  • "What fruit do people see in me?"

A revolution will start to occur in our own lives when we truly realize Who we come from, what our worth is, and our purpose in this story of life.

Have blessed week
