The followers said to the Lord, "Give us more faith."
Luke 17:5
At this point in my life, I am facing an enormous challenge. My prayer has been more often than ever: "Lord, increase my faith."
1. It's appropriate to ask for more faith.
This request doesn't mean that you lack faith; it only means that the challenge in front of you is so enormous that you need more faith. Therefore, we need to ask for more faith.
In the next few weeks, we will begin rebuilding our House of Worship. Our faith is strong. We don't doubt that the Lord will provide the needed resources to erect a beautiful sanctuary for His name's sake. However, we need to ask in our prayers for divine provision continually.
The ancient statement from the Apostle James stands true: "Ye have not, because ye ask not."
2. God pours out an extra measure of faith for those who genuinely want it.
God tends to meet us at our level of expectation. When you ask for more faith, expect God to be faithful to grant you your request.
When you ask for faith, be willing to do whatever God says. God will not pour more faith on you if you do not act on it. Asking God for faith is not just a request; it is an obedient act to do what He commands.
Many believers want to do what God wants them to do until they find out what He wants them to do.
3. Faith will require you to do what is most unlikely in the most unlikely way.
Asking without obedience to act will clog the pipeline of God's provision.
Spend time asking God for faith every day. Ask with the intention and willingness to respond to whatever He says.
"Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God, whose ways you may not understand at the time."
~Oswald Chambers
Never stop asking God for more. The people who "know it all" think they don't need to ask for wisdom. But the greatest enemy of wisdom is pride, assuming you already know it all.
"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts."
~John Wooden
Faith begins where pride ends. The future improves when we allow our faith in God to guide our future. And always remember, when God guides, He always provides.
If He has called us to it, He will see us through it. His promises stand true even when the circumstances are bleak. We just need faith for the journey.
Have a blessed week,
Pastor (Rev. Elias Limones)
