2022-06-20 "YOUR OUTLOOK DETERMINES YOUR ATTITUDE" by Rev. Elias Limones

"Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see." So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."

II Kings 6:17

You can never choose all that happens to you, but you can always choose what happens within you.

No one and nothing can make you miserable without your permission. Your outlook determines your attitude.

1. Change your perspective, and you can change your attitude.

Stop complaining about what you don't have and start thanking God for what you do have.

Once you acknowledge God's blessings over you, you will grow in gratitude and "in God."

You will understand that every blessing you have comes from God through jobs, businesses, and investments. The source is God.

David prayed, "But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.

I Chronicles 29:14

Start by giving thanks for His provision of your basic needs: food to eat, a roof over your head, good health, loving relationships, a job, etc. Enthusiasm is the natural outflow of a grateful heart.

In contrast, ungratefulness breeds "disease." The word "disease" comes from the Old French word desaise. Its root words are des meaning "without" and aise, meaning "ease." Disease is defined as a state of disharmony, mirroring things that are "without ease."

2. Many believers are spiritually diseased because of their negativity and ingratitude.

Don't let conflicting, anxious thoughts steal your joy. Misery cannot manifest in a heart full of joy. Jesus came to bring us a joy that is literally out of this world.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

John 10:10

Jesus said He came to bring us abundant life. There is a big difference between just living and having an abundant life. It's the difference between surviving and thriving. Which will you choose?

"Your success and happiness lies in you.

Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties."

~Hellen Keller

Choosing to live with joy determines how successful your life will be. It takes 72 muscles to frown and only 23 to smile, which means you exert more energy being upset than you do in choosing to be happy.

Have a blessed week,

Pastor (Rev. Elias Limones)
