Cycling is a low impact sport that keeps you fit and healthy. It is also relatively easy to implement in your daily routine.
New and aspiring club members can progressively build a cycling routine by joining beginning level cycling rides. Here are few things to keep in mind:
Dress appropriately. You want to avoid clothing that impedes pedaling or can get caught in rotating wheels.
Effect the ABC quick check prior to a ride: air (tire pressure), brakes, cranks, chains and cogs - see below to learn the Bicycle anatomy
Hydrate - Let thirst be your guide. Carry at least two refillable water bottles. Coconut water quenches thirst while replenishing electrolytes.
Snacks - Cyclists leverage a range of snacks to keep those energy level ups. For beginners, I recommend a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Clif Bar, banana or any other mix of carbohydrate, protein fat and salt for lasting energy and stamina.
